Can't cookies spy on me, and damage my computer?

No. Cookies are used by websites like ours to keep track of people using the site. Each time you add an item to your shopping basket, we need to know which shopping basket to add it to as our server may contain hundreds or thousands of seperate shopping baskets. The cookie tells us this. Without this information we can't find out what basket to use, and so your basket will remain empty forever.

Only we can see the cookie that tracks your shopping basket. No other websites have access to this information. It's also against the law for us to use this information for any other purpose without your express permission. Even if we could, we take privacy very seriously, and wouldn't anyway.

The cookie itself is a small text file stored on your computer, and cannot be contaminated with a virus from any website, so cookies cannot spread virusses.

Contrary to populate belief cookies are harmless, cannot be used to spy on you and cannot harm your computer. In fact they are an essential part of the internet and many websites use them.
