Hornbeam

Hornbeam is noted for its magnificent gold and red autumn foliage and its upward sweeping limbs. It is often confused with Beech, but there are subtle differences which make it easy to distinguish. Its winter buds are shorter and fatter than those of the Beech and Hornbeam has sharply toothed rough textured leaves in comparison to the smooth Beech leaves.
