Hazel
Corylus avellana
Native
Hazel is a tree that also makes a strong dense hedge. Its rounded dark green leaves turn yellow in autumn. Male flowers appear in late winter/early spring before the leaves open and the female flowers are tiny with only the red stigmas showing. The nuts (cobnuts) are edible and provide an excellent source of food for many forms of wildlife.
Our broadleaf trees are delivered approximately 40cm and 60cm tall dependent upon seasonal variations.
